Lexington Law Firm
I recently hired Lexington Law Firm to help fix my credit. Are they good? I have 10 negative items on each report to Experian, Equifax and Trans Union. I thought they would challenge all my negative points on all reports at once. But they told me they deliberately limit the number of records to protect their customers. They said that the Fair Credit Reporting Act allows agencies to refuse to reinvestigate all the challenges that they consider frivolous. One factor they use in determining a reckless challenge is when a consumer challenges for many things at once. They also said they found that limiting the number of items they are challenged to avoid their clients challenges from being labeled as frivolous.
Given the limitations of the Federal Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), seems Lexington Law Firm strategy to be a sensible strategy. Under the FCRA, what it (at your opinion), if a consumer credit reporting agency receives it considers a frivolous challenge, then the credit reporting agency can simply ignore the request.
Since credit reporting is so complex, and the Credit Reporting Agencies are dealing with so much data, it can really be a combination of an art and a science to get credit reports fixed lists or deleted. Lexington Law is generally considered to be a reputable company, but of course the individual consumer must do their own homework. I visited Salt Lake City to see the operation in action and it is very impressive. They have done so for quite some time, and they seem to have good systems in place.
